A. From the North:

From I-85/ U.S. 441/ Commerce

From Commerce, Georgia, at Interstate 85, take U.S. 441 South. As you approach Athens, follow the U.S. 441 South signs which will take you onto the Athens Perimeter (Loop 10) going east. Continue around the perimeter until you see signs for the exit for U.S. 441 South to Watkinsville. Take this exit and follow U.S. 441 toward Watkinsville. As you near Watkinsville, you will come to a stoplight with signs that point to the left and say Watkinsville Business District (GA 24).  Take a left and go into Watkinsville (if you go straight through the stoplight, you will be on the 441 bypass and end up going around Watkinsville). When you get into Watkinsville, go through the first 2 stoplights.  At the next stoplight be in the left turn lane and make a left turn onto Barnett Shoals Road. Go 4 1/2 miles and you will see the Rivendell sign on the left just before the Oconee River bridge.

From U.S. 129, Jefferson

From Jefferson take U.S. 129 South toward Athens. Outside of Athens, take the Athens Perimeter (Loop 10) West. Get off of the perimeter at the Ga. 316 exit. At the the top of the exit ramp take a right and move over into the left lane. At the second stoplight, take a left onto the Oconee Connecter and follow this road all the way to Main Street in Watkinsville. At the stoplight in Watkinsville take a right. After the right, go through the 1st stoplight you come to and at the next stoplight make a left hand turn onto Barnett Shoals Road. Go 4 1/2 miles and you will see the Rivendell sign on the left just before the Oconee River bridge..

From GA 106

Take GA 106 until it intersects (dead ends) with U.S. 29. Take a right (south) onto U.S. 29. After 5 miles or so U.S. 29 will merge with (you don't have to do anything) the Athens Perimeter (Loop 10). Follow 29 and the loop until you see signs for U.S. 441/ U.S. 129 south exit to Watkinsville.  Take this exit and follow U.S. 441 toward Watkinsville. As you near Watkinsville, you will come to a stoplight with signs that point to the left and say Watkinsville Business District (GA 24).  Take a left and go into Watkinsville (if you go straight through the stoplight, you will be on the 441 bypass and end up going around Watkinsville). When you get into Watkinsville, go through the first 2 stoplights. At the next stoplight be in the left turn lane and make a left turn onto Barnett Shoals Road. Go 4 1/2 miles and you will see the Rivendell sign on the left just before the Oconee River bridge.

From U.S. 29, Danielsville

Take U.S. 29 South which will merge with (you don't have to do anything) the Athens Perimeter (Loop 10). Follow 29 and the loop until you see signs for U.S. 441/ U.S. 129 exit to Watkinsville.  Take this exit and follow U.S. 441 toward Watkinsville. As you near Watkinsville, you will come to a stoplight with signs that point to the left and say Watkinsville Business District (GA 24).  Take a left and go into Watkinsville (if you go straight through the stoplight, you will be on the 441 bypass and end up going around Watkinsville). When you get into Watkinsville, go through the first 2 stoplights. At the next stoplight be in the left turn lane and make a left turn onto Barnett Shoals Road. Go 4 1/2 miles and you will see the Rivendell sign on the left just before the Oconee River bridge.

B: From the South:

The primary route into the Athens area from the South is U.S. 441. Assuming this is the route you will take, come north on 441 toward Watkinsville. As you near Watkinsville (about 8 miles before you get to Athens), you will need to watch for signs pointing to the right and indicating Watkinsville Business District/Business 441.  Take this right turn and follow business 441/GA 24 into Watkinsville proper (if you go straight ahead at this point you will go around Watkinsville on the 441 bypass). At the first stoplight you come to in Watkinsville there are two right turns which you can make - a very hard right onto GA 15 - and a more moderate right onto Barnett Shoals Road. Take the moderate right hand turn onto Barnett Shoals Road and come 4 1/2 miles to the Rivendell sign which will be on the left just before the Oconee River bridge..

C. From the East:

From US 78 Driving West - When approaching from the east on U.S. 78, about 3 miles after passing through Crawford but before getting to Athens, you will come to a spot where a road will come in from the left. Unfortunately, there is no stoplight.  However, there is a street sign saying Wolfskin Road.  Take a left onto Wolfskin Road and continue straight ahead for about 10+ miles. Along the way, Wolfskin Road will become Bob Godfrey Road and then, about 1 mile before getting to Rivendell, it will become Barnett Shoals Road.  Don't worry about the name changes, it's all the same road.  After approximately 11 miles you will cross the Oconee River Bridge and the Rivendell driveway will be just past the bridge on the right.

D: From the West:

From U.S. 78 Driving East (From Atlanta)

Approaching Athens eastbound on U.S. 78 (about 12 miles after passing Monroe) you will come to a stoplight at the intersection of GA 53 and U.S. 78. Take a right onto GA 53 and go approximately 8 miles to another stoplight. At this light GA 53 makes a right hand turn. Take a right in order to stay on GA 53 and go through the first stoplight you come to and at the next stoplight (Main Street of Watkinsville) take a right. After the right, go through the 1st stoplight you come to and at the next stoplight  make a left hand turn onto Barnett Shoals Road. Go 4 1/2 miles and you will see our sign on the left just before the Oconee River bridge..

From GA 316

Stay on GA 316 until you are nearing the Athens perimeter loop.  You will pass a stoplight where Jimmy Daniels Road crosses.  At the next stoplight you will see a green sign pointing to the right and saying "Watkinsville - Next Exit". At the stoplight, take a right and follow this road (Oconee Connector - this road will change names twice, but pay no attention).  You will end up at a stoplight at Main Street in downtown Watkinsville.  At this stoplight, take a right. After the right, go through the 1st stoplight you come to and at the next stoplight  make a left hand turn onto Barnett Shoals Road. Go 4 1/2 miles and you will see our sign on the left just before the Oconee River bridge.

From Nearby Major Interstates

Traveling north from Atlanta on Interstate 85, exit onto GA 316 (University Parkway) and follow directions from GA 316 (Click Here).

Upon leaving the airport, follow the road signs onto Interstate 85 North. Remain on I-85 North for approximately 25 miles, and exit onto GA 316. Stay on GA 316 until you are nearing the Athens perimeter loop (35 miles or so).  You will come to, and continue through, a stoplight where "Jimmy Daniels Road" crosses.  At the next stoplight you will see a green sign pointing to the right and saying "Watkinsville - Next Exit". At the stoplight, take a right and follow this road (Oconee Connector - this road will change names twice, but pay no attention).  You will end up at a stoplight at Main Street in downtown Watkinsville.  At this stoplight, take a right.
